Why You Shouldn't Put off Your Annual AC Inspection

3 Reasons to Replace Your Furnace During the Summer

Cold weather is usually the furthest thing from your mind during the summer months. You don't want to fill your sunny days with thoughts of snow and ice, but giving your heating system some attention during the summer could prove beneficial.

If your furnace wasn't performing as well as you thought it should last winter, summer can be the perfect time to replace your old furnace with a new one. Here are a few reasons why you should be thinking about your heater now versus later.

1. Convenience

Buying a new furnace in the summer is ideal. You don't need a furnace to heat your home during the summer, so you won't have to worry about going without heat when installing a new furnace. Summer installation can be completed without causing you or your family any significant inconvenience.

If you wait until the winter months to replace your furnace, you may find that your HVAC technician has a full schedule. You could have to wait several days without heat before your new unit can be installed. The demand for heating services is very low during the summer, so it's a convenient time to replace your furnace unit.

2. Time

Another reason to replace your furnace during the summer months is the time you will gain to shop around. A new furnace can cost between $2,150–$5,900. Making such a significant investment when you feel rushed can be detrimental to the efficiency of your heating system. You will have a lot of time to evaluate and compare different furnace models during the summer months because there is no need to hurry and install a furnace due to a lack of heat. This will result in the installation of a furnace that is uniquely suited to meet your family's heating needs over time.

3. Cost

With a new furnace requiring such a significant financial commitment, finding ways to reduce costs can be helpful when you need to install a new heating system. Prices tend to be lower during the summer months because the demand for heating services is at its lowest.

HVAC companies can offer discounts on quality furnace units to entice homeowners to buy, and you will pay much less for the cost of labor when compared with installation services completed during the winter. Summer shopping has the potential to save you quite a bit of money on the installation of a new furnace in your home.

The heat of summer shouldn't stop you from thinking about the heating system in your home. Contact heating installation services to learn more.

About Me

Why You Shouldn't Put off Your Annual AC Inspection

I almost always have my air conditioner inspected every spring before I start using it in the summer. However, last year I decided to skip the inspection. Everything had been OK for the last couple of years, so I assumed that it would be fine this year as well. Why not save a few dollars and skip the annual check up, just this once? Of course, this was the year that my air conditioner decided to break down. It ran for a few days, but it never really seemed to get cool enough to bring the indoor temperature down. Then it started making a loud noise, right before shutting off completely. By that time, the AC repair company was swamped like it always is when the weather is warm, and I had to wait days for an appointment. Next year, I will definitely be getting that yearly inspection first.
