Why You Shouldn't Put off Your Annual AC Inspection

The Importance Of Air Conditioning Maintenance: Keep Your Summer Cool

Summer is the time to enjoy the sunshine, take a dip in the pool, and indulge in ice creams. But, summer can get too intense in some regions, making it difficult to stay comfortable indoors. That's where air conditioning units come in, providing a cool oasis to escape the heat. However, your AC unit won't keep you comfortable unless it is in good working condition. This blog post discusses the importance of air conditioning maintenance.

Avoid Costly Breakdowns

Your air conditioning unit is a complex piece of machinery that requires regular maintenance to keep it running smoothly. Neglecting maintenance will lead to wear and tear, which can cause the unit to break down. A sudden breakdown could lead to costly repairs or even replacement. Regular air conditioning maintenance not only ensures that your unit is working properly but it also alerts you to potential problems early, saving you both time and money in the long run.

Better Efficiency

An air conditioning unit that is working smoothly will run more efficiently. AC units that are neglected will draw more power to keep the desired temperature, driving up your electricity bills. Proper air conditioning maintenance can help your unit to run better and reduce energy expenditure.

Improved Air Quality

The air in your home circulates through the AC filter. When the filter is dirty, it won't be effective in filtering airborne contaminants, leading to poor indoor air quality. Regular air conditioning maintenance ensures that the filter is clean and in good working condition, resulting in improved indoor air quality.

Extend Service Life

A well-maintained air conditioning unit will last longer than a neglected one. Routine maintenance can prevent the buildup of acidic residue on the outdoor coil, which can corrode the coil, shortening its service life. Regular air conditioning maintenance, such as the removal of debris from the outdoor unit, allows free airflow to the system, reducing strain on the system.

Stay Cool & Comfortable

Air conditioning maintenance is ultimately important for comfort. A unit that is well-maintained will keep your home cool and comfortable, allowing you to beat the summer heat.

Air conditioning maintenance may seem like a minor task, but it plays a significant role in keeping you comfortable and saving you money in the long run. Regular air conditioning maintenance can prevent costly breakdowns and inefficient performance.

About Me

Why You Shouldn't Put off Your Annual AC Inspection

I almost always have my air conditioner inspected every spring before I start using it in the summer. However, last year I decided to skip the inspection. Everything had been OK for the last couple of years, so I assumed that it would be fine this year as well. Why not save a few dollars and skip the annual check up, just this once? Of course, this was the year that my air conditioner decided to break down. It ran for a few days, but it never really seemed to get cool enough to bring the indoor temperature down. Then it started making a loud noise, right before shutting off completely. By that time, the AC repair company was swamped like it always is when the weather is warm, and I had to wait days for an appointment. Next year, I will definitely be getting that yearly inspection first.
